CULINARY ARTS

Bidders shall submit their bids in a sealed envelope or electronically. Sealed Bids will be received at the Resource Management Department, 915 10th Street South, Columbus, MS, during normal office hours OR Electronic bids can be submitted at www.cplaprojects.com at any time prior to the designated date for the bid opening.  Bids will then be publicly opened and read aloud at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 19, 2024.

Bids are invited for all materials, labor, tools, and services necessary to perform all tasks presented in the construction specifications and plans. Installation of landscape and irrigation in the project area noted on the plans. Removal of existing sod, and vegetation in the project area will be required without damaging the building or surrounding hardscape.

Contract Documents, including Drawings and Technical Specifications, are on file at, MUW, Resource Management Department, 915 10th Street South, Columbus, MS and Official Bid Documents may be downloaded and/or obtained at www.cplaprojects.com. If there are any questions related to the process of obtaining plans from the www.cplaprojects.com plan room, please contact the Plan House at 228-248- 0181. Electronic bids can be submitted at www.cplaprojects.com. Questions or comments pertaining to this bid must be presented in writing and sent via e-mail to the attention of the Project Manager, Christian Preus, e-mail: patricia@christianpreus.com by Tuesday, March 12, by 2:00 pm.

All Bids must be on blank bid forms provided in the Bid documents. Bids shall be accompanied by a BID SECURITY equal to five percent (5%) of the bid price, but in no event more than ten-thousand dollars ($10,000.00). BID SECURITY shall be in the form of a Bid Bond signed by a Bonding company authorized to do business in the State of Mississippi, or a Cashier’s Check payable to MUW.

For bids exceeding $50,000 Bidder must indicate his Certificate of Responsibility Number on outside of sealed proposal as required by Mississippi Law. For bids not exceeding $50,000, Bidder must either indicate his Certificate Number, or else write clearly "Bid does not exceed $50,000."

All bids must be on blank bid forms provided in the Bid Documents. All bids, with their guarantee (when required), must be enclosed in a sealed, opaque envelope, clearly identified on the outside as a “Sealed Bid” with Culinary Arts, Mississippi University for Women, 1100 College Street, Columbus, MS, and CONTRACTOR’s Name and Address. Each bid must be in a separate envelope. Bids made out in pencil will not be accepted. Failure to observe the instructions contained herein will constitute grounds for rejection of your bid. MUW reserves the right to accept or reject all bids or any portion thereof, and to waive informalities and to furnish any item of material or work to change the amount of the CONTRACT, whichever is in the best interest of MUW.

Awarding public contracts to non-resident Bidders will be on the same basis as the non-resident bidder’s state awards contracts to Mississippi Contractors bidding under similar circumstances. In order to ensure that Mississippi’s so-called Golden Rule is followed, state law requires a non-resident bidder to attach to his bid a copy of his resident state’s current laws pertaining to such state’s treatment of non-resident contractors.

Bids may be held by the MUW, for a period not to exceed ninety (90) days from the date of the opening of bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders, prior to awarding of the Contract.
