NOTICE is hereby given that the City of Brandon, Mississippi, will receive written and electronic bids until the hour of 10:00 AM (CT) on February 22, 2024, at the City Clerk’s Office, 1000 Municipal Drive, Brandon, MS 39042, for the furnishing of all labor and materials and for the construction of that certain project designated as SHILOH PARK EWP BANK STABILIZATION. All bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 10:00 AM (CT) February 22, 2024, at the City Clerk’s Office at 1000 Municipal Drive, Brandon, MS 39042.
Contractors can submit their bids sealed in an envelope or electronically through www.waggonerengplans.com. Sealed bid envelopes shall be marked “SEALED BID FOR CITY OF BRANDON – SHILOH PARK EWP BANK STABILIZATION PROJECT TO BE OPENED AT 10:00 AM (CT) on February 22, 2024,” and if any envelope is not so marked any bid contained therein will not be considered.
All bid envelopes should contain the bidder’s name and mailing address on the face of the envelope. The envelope shall also include the bidder’s Certificate of Responsibility number or a statement that the bid enclosed does not exceed Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) on the outside of the envelope, failing which, said bid shall not be opened or considered.
When submitting an electronic bid, the bid must be submitted in “pdf” format and shall contain the same information and forms as required for the paper bids. Electronic bids must be secured with a bid bond. When submitting a bid electronically, the authorized signature may be a handwritten blue ink signature or an electronic signature. When bids are submitted electronically, the requirement for including a certificate of responsibility, or a statement that the bid enclosed does not exceed Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00), on the exterior of the bid envelope shall be deemed in compliance by including the same information as an attachment with the electronic bid submittal.
Bid documents are being made available via paper copy or digital copy through www.waggonerengplans.com. Plans can be viewed for no charge or physically purchased at this website location. All plan holders are required to have a valid e-mail address to register for an account and log in at www.waggonerengplans.com. Purchased bid documents are non-refundable and must be purchased through the website.
A non-mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at 1:00 p.m. (CT) on February 8, 2024, in the City Clerk’s Office at 1000 Municipal Drive, Brandon, MS 39042.
The project consists of the construction of measures to prevent further erosion through bank stabilization shown on the Bid Form.
The total Contract Time will be 70 consecutive calendar days, and the liquidated damages will be $500.00 per consecutive calendar day thereafter.
The City of Brandon, Mississippi, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises/woman business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award.
Award will be made to the lowest and best bidder, and the City of Brandon, Mississippi, reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
