Separate sealed bids will be received by the Jasper County Board of Supervisors in the boardroom at the Jasper
County Courthouse, Bay Springs, Mississippi, until 10:00 a.m. on Monday October 27, 2023, for the construction of a
Volunteer Fire Department to be located on the county road 371 near Beaver Meadow Recreational Park also known
as Engineer's Project No. JSCBS-301-22. Bids will be opened in public and read aloud.
The Plan drawings, Specifications, and Contract documents are on file and can be viewed and obtained online
via the website of the Engineer of Record, Lawrence R. Clark, P.E. at www.clarkengineersprojects.com. By use of the
website the plan holders shall be able to view and obtain hard copies of the Plans and Specifications and/or shall also
have the opportunity to submit an official bid online.
All hard copy proposals shall be directed to the attention of The JASPER County Board of Supervisors with the
outside of the envelope marked “JSCBS-301-22 Jasper County Volunteer Fire Department”. Contractor shall indicate
certificate of responsibility number on the outside of the envelope. Online bids shall be submitted, accepted, and
opened as instructed in the contract documents.
Basis of Award: The award, if made, will be to the lowest and best qualified bidder. The Board intends to
accept the lowest and best bid and reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids.
Total Contract Time as Advertised: 150 Calendar Days
The Board of Supervisors hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that, in any contract entered
pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in
response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in
consideration for an award.
Certified Check or Bid Bond for five percent (5%) of total bid payable to JASPER County must accompany
each proposal.
Bidders are hereby notified that any proposal accompanied by letter qualifying in any manner the condition
under which the proposal is tendered will be considered an irregular bid, and such proposals will not be considered
in making the award.
