Floor Tile Replacement Gertrude Ellis Head Start Center
-Classroom E, F, G and the bathrooms in each classroom
-Admin Breakroom
-Bathrooms (3) in the Hallway
-Closet in the Hallway

1. Contractor shall remove all existing tile flooring in each area described above and replace with new Vinyl Plank flooring.
2. Contractor shall install a “Floating Floor” Vinyl Plank application with ¾” x ¾” quarter round wood base to match existing color.
3. Contractor is to install Floating Floor leaving a minimum of ¼” spacing from perimeter wall.
4. Floor Planks are to be installed parallel to entrance doors in all rooms unless informed or instructed otherwise.
5. Floor Planks are to be installed in corridors parallel to corridor walls with a minimum of
¼” spacing from perimeter walls.
6. Floating Floor system should not have any gaps, clip edges should be tightly connected strictly per manufactures instructions. Contractor must walk entire building to determine if there are any weak or sagging subflooring. Those areas are to be replaced with tongue and groove ¾” CDX plywood if areas are large enough to allow such application. If area is not large enough to use tongue and groove CDX plywood, contractor may us regular CDX plywood same thickness.
7. Contractor shall install 6 mil. thk. visqueen PE film underlayment of new vinyl plank flooring system to provide added moisture protection between subfloor and vinyl plank.
8. Contractor must use proper click fasting tools to install Floating Floor system. Chipped planks will NOT be accepted. Owner will provide color selection of flooring.
9. Contractor is asked to work during regular work hours 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. However, work hours may change due to administration requirements.
10. Contractor shall remove and reset all toilets, repair or replace flanges, and use Danco Perfect Seal Rings. All toilets are to be 100% free of any leaks.
11. Contractor must check all doors and plane the ones that are too low that may damage new floor planks. Contractor shall plane doors at ½” above finish floor.
12. Contractor shall install new threshold at all exterior doors that will provide a 100% seal.
13. Contractor shall install rubber transitional plates (same color of floor plank) at door thresholds to cover change in floor plank pattern or direction.
14. Due to the weight of equipment on the kitchen floor and frequent water use for cleaning, Contractor shall replace entire kitchen subfloor with 4’x8’x ¾” CDX tongue and groove plywood whereas the long side is to be installed perpendicular to the floor joist.

1. Contractor shall use PERGO -DuraCraft Waterproof Luxury Vinyl Planks or an Approved Equal. Texture: Wirebrushed, Series Name: DuraCraft +WetProtect, Wood Species: N/A Style: Transitional, Manufacturer Color/Finish: Heirloom Estate Oak, Color/Finish Family: Owner’s preference, Pieces per Carton: 7, Commercial/Residential: Commercial/Residential, Stain Resistant, Scratch Resistant, Floating, Protective Wear Layer: Urethane, Gloss Level: Low, Edge Type: Beveled, Sold As: Carton, Square Footage Per Carton (Sq. Feet): 17.43,
Square Footage Per Piece (Sq. Feet): 2.49, Luxury Vinyl Plank, Warranty: Lifetime, Color Shade: Medium, Lowe’s Exclusive, Thk. Measurement: 6mm – 7mm thk. Contractor must adhere to manufacture’s installation requirements to ensure product lifetime warranty.
2. Visqueen PE Film Underlayment: 6 mil. thk.
3. Floor Base: New 4” rubber base with ½” boot.
Contractor shall include in quote an amount of $5,000.00 for laten conditions and owners request for additional work relative to the project. Funds not used during the construction of the project shall be deducted from the contractor’s final payment. At the completion of project, work site must be neat and clean.

1. Contractor is advised to visit site to familiarize themselves with existing conditions, verify dimensions, and provide a sufficient work crew that does not cause any self-produced delays.
2. Contractor must provide a Performance Bond, Payment Bond, and Liability Insurance upon the receipt of a Purchase Order and prior to the Notice to Proceed.
3. Contractor must adhere to the latest edition of the Davis Bacon Act regarding worker’s wages.
4. Contractor completion timeline is 30 calendar days
